What is the MCN Program?
The Michigan Certified Nurseryman (MCN) Program was developed in 1980 to identify dedicated individuals who are knowledgeable and experienced in the Green Industry. The professional MCN designation is the highest standard of Green Industry certification in Michigan. Certification is obtained through industryy experience, examination, and commitment to continuing education.

John Versluys, MCN #1, a founding father of the MCN Program, stated three program objectives:
-To provide a means by which the industry member could demonstrate their professional ability in a way
recognized in our society.
-For the program to serve as a learning tool for individuals who may need additional training.
-For individuals to take personal satisfaction for their own accomplishments.

Who is an MCN?
Currently, there are over 750 active Michigan Certified Nurseryman involved with Michigan's Green Industry:

-Landscape Management
-Growers

How to find an MCN:
Look for the MCN logo! It can be found on business cards, name badges, certificates displayed on business walls, and in yellow-page advertising.
Request the MCN! When shopping retail or for landscape services request the MCN.
Search the following database for MCN's in your area.
